Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Information you provide directly:

  • Contact information (name, email address, phone number) when you fill out a form on our website, book a consultation, download a guide, or communicate with us
  • Student information (academic profile, activities, goals, essays, college list, and related educational data) when you or your student engage our advisory services
  • Billing information when you purchase services (handled by our payment processor — we do not store payment card numbers on our own systems)
  • Messages and correspondence you send us by email, phone, or through our website

Information collected automatically:

  • Technical information about your device and browser (IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers)
  • Information about your visit (pages viewed, time spent, referring site, actions taken)
  • Cookie and tracking data from our website and advertising (including Meta Pixel data when you interact with our ads on Facebook or Instagram)

Information from third parties:

  • When you submit a Meta Lead Form in response to one of our advertisements, Meta shares your name, email address, and any questions you answered with us
  • When you book a consultation through Calendly, Calendly shares your booking details with us

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide our college admissions advisory services to you and your student
  • Communicate with you about your engagement, schedule meetings, and respond to inquiries
  • Send you the lead magnet guides, email newsletters, and other educational content you’ve requested
  • Process payments for our services
  • Improve our services, website, and advertising
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share information only with the following categories of recipients:

Service providers who help us operate the business:

  • Email service providers (MailerLite) for sending marketing emails, newsletters, and automated email sequences
  • Scheduling tools (Calendly) for booking consultations
  • Payment processors (Stripe or similar) for processing payments
  • File storage and productivity tools (Google Workspace, including Google Drive and Google Docs) for storing student work, session notes, and collaborative documents
  • Advertising platforms (Meta, including Facebook and Instagram) for running advertisements and measuring their effectiveness, including sharing data back to Meta via the Meta Pixel
  • Artificial intelligence services (Anthropic’s Claude API) for generating personalized strategic plans and recommendations based on student profiles. When we use AI to generate plans or analyze student data, we transmit only the academic and extracurricular information needed to generate the output — such as grades, test scores, activities, awards, college list, and advisor session notes. We do not transmit contact information (email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses) or billing information to the AI service. The data is used only to generate the requested output and is subject to the AI provider’s privacy terms. Anthropic does not train its models on data submitted through its commercial API.

Legal disclosures: We may share information when required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights, safety, or property.

Business transfers: If Prabhaat, Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to understand how visitors use the site, to remember your preferences, and to support our advertising. This includes the Meta Pixel, which tracks visitor behavior on our site and reports back to Meta for ad measurement and optimization.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may affect some functionality on our website.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the information we hold about you
  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate information
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your information, subject to legal retention requirements
  • Opt-out of marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us directly
  • Data portability: Request a copy of your information in a structured, machine-readable format

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@elitecollegeadvising.com. We will respond within 30 days.

California residents: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. As noted above, we do not sell personal information.

Children’s privacy

Our advisory services are directed at families with high school students, some of whom are minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If your student is under 13, their information should be provided to us by a parent or legal guardian.

For students between 13 and 18, we collect information with the understanding that a parent or guardian is actively involved in the engagement and has consented to the collection and use of that information. If you are a parent and believe we have collected information from your child without your consent, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide our services and to comply with legal, tax, and business record-keeping obligations. For active clients, this means the duration of the engagement plus a reasonable period afterward (typically seven years). For inactive contacts and email subscribers, we retain information until you request deletion or unsubscribe.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted over the internet or stored on our systems.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through our website.
